Being Calm amidst Stress


When you are doing your best to reach a goal, the journey might be difficult. Dealing with difficult situations might be very stressful. Stress will affect the way you will handle all your activities and decision making. It will also hamper your creativity because it will cloud your way of thinking.

There are ways of being calm amidst stress.

1. Avoid people who are pessimistic. You need all the help you can get.  Be sure that you surround yourself with people who are very optimistic.  These are people who are really serious about helping you achieve your goal and will provide with the right suggestions instead of putting you down.

2. Take time to relax.  Relaxation time is not a waste of time.  You might just want to walk around the park or sing a song.  You might want to paint a picture or just take photos with your camera.  Relaxing gives your mind the needed rest so that you can focus again in reaching your goal.

3. Eat and exercise well.  Eat the right kind of food and exercise well.  A good combination of what you take internally and what you do externally can boost the performance of your mind and body.

4. Pray in a quiet place. The best way to deal with stress is by taking time to pray. Prayer already has wonderful effects both in mind and body.  Prayer also deepens your relationship with God.  By choosing to pray, you are actually saying that you know your weaknesses so that God will help you with the rest.
